This week’s Wedding Twist Tuesday puts a new spin on your wedding photo effects, taking that crisp, colorful wedding photo and giving it a gorgeous sepia appearance. Like these photos from my wedding:
Why is sepia so hot now? It has a lot to do with the neutral, earthy color tones that are all the rage in home décor – those browns and tans that make your living room so comfy and inviting. With just one click on your photo editing tools such as at Shutterfly and Kodak Gallery, all of those digital photos your friends took at your wedding – plus those table camera photos – can turn into tan-toned artwork. Whether in 4×6 framed or as full-wall blowups, your wedding photos get timeless with just this one, easy effect.
You can even order sepia-toned photos from your professional photographer, which is a great solution if you absolutely love lots of your proofs, but only have room in your album for 24 or 36 shots. And you might even use sepia on the last page of your album!
Sepia’s come a long way from those boardwalk old-timey photos where everyone’s dressed like they work in a saloon. They’re the new, hot special effect for wedding photos, whether for your full-length portraits of you as a couple, or even for panoramic photos of your wedding locale.
What I love about sepia wedding photos is that they look so amazing in a silver or brass frame, and then you place next to it an earthy, neutral candle or a glass vase filled with tan, brown, and light gray river stones. The colors just work together.
Try out your engagement photo in sepia, just to take a look. You might find that you can now get a few of those in earthy tones, frame one that didn’t make the final cut as your official engagement photo, and voila! A new twist on your photos gives you fabulous décor accents for your home or office!
What do you think? Are you loving the sepia? Or is your preferred photo twist black-and-white photos? We’d love to hear your inspirations!
Also, don’t forget to enter for your chance to WIN a copy of Sharon’s Bridesmaid on a Budget and fun bachelorette cameras, now through March 15!
