Wedding Twist Tuesday: Twist Your Guest Photos, Royal Wedding Style!

It’s royal wedding week, and all of the talk about guests who will be attending the wedding inspired this week’s Wedding Twist Tuesday post.

We’re seeing TV segments on what guests will be wearing, including dresses and “fascinators” like Kate Middleton’s fabulous headpieces she’s worn to friends’ weddings. And we know that swarms of photographers are going to be snapping photos of everyone from Princess Beatrice to Princess Eugenie to Victoria Beckham as they arrive for the royal wedding.

Which got me thinking…what if you had your guests’ arrivals at your wedding captured on film, as well? You don’t need a noisy crowd of paparazzi behind a red velvet rope, like you see on red carpets and movie premieres. Just a few volunteers snapping photos with their digital cameras or with extras you have of your one-time-use cameras, like the pretty royal purple one from Kodak:

Purple is, after all, a traditionally royal color, and a great many royal wedding viewing parties are planned with a purple color scheme! If you’d rather color-coordinate with your wedding, there’s always the red floral, blue floral and ivory cameras that I love not just for their pretty appearance, but because they use high film speed and deliver top-quality photos. And you’ll want your guest arrivals captured with top-quality film, not blurry, grainy cheapo cameras.

This twist of capturing guests upon arrival gets them at their best, with their dresses, hair and makeup in perfect condition, happy anticipation in their eyes, couples walking holding hands…all in front of your lovely ceremony or reception site. That’s way better than the boring, promlike photos of guests at their tables (don’t guests always look annoyed in those?)

Just one warning: don’t snap guests as they’re getting out of their cars, such as with valet parking. No one wants up-the-skirt shots! So wait until they’re safely standing, and have your photographers capture guest arrivals with all the excitement of a royal wedding or celebrity-studded premiere!
